Fire Retardant Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires fire retardant treated wood manufacturers to provide Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to downstream users to communicate information on the hazards of the chemicals. The new SDS replaces the MSDS, or Material Safety Data Sheet, that was formerly required.
An SDS for each fire retardant formulation can be requested from the treating company. Manufacturers of fire retardant formulations also make SDSs for their formulations available online for downloading or by request.
Below are a list of manufacturers of the commonly available fire retardants and the brand or product names they are marketed under. Click on the company name for a link to request or download an SDS for each fire retardant listed below the respective company.
